Supporting Every Learner, Every Step of the Way
At San Diego Unified School District, we are committed to providing Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to all eligible students with disabilities under federal and state laws.
๐ Who We Serve
We identify, assess, and support students with disabilities from birth through age 21, including those in public and private schools, foster care, or transitional housing.
โ๏ธ Legal Foundation
Our services are guided by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004). This law ensures that students with disabilities receive the services and support they need to succeed in school and beyond.
๐ ๏ธ What We Provide
Eligible students receive an Individualized Education Program (IEP) tailored to their unique needs. Services may include:
- Academic support
- Speech and language therapy
- Occupational and physical therapy
- Counseling and behavioral support
- Assistive technology
- Specialized instruction
All services are delivered in the least restrictive environment, allowing students to learn alongside their peers whenever possible.
๐ค A Team Approach
We believe in collaboration. Families, educators, and specialists work together to develop and implement each studentโs IEP, ensuring a shared commitment to student success.
